EightWays follows a constant compass bearing, also called a rhumb line. East stays east, northwest stays northwest, and so on.

Each result is the first different country or territory that bearing enters. Distinct territories count separately when Natural Earth maps them separately. Open-water starting points have no starting country.

North and south can terminate at a pole. Diagonal bearings may approach a pole without another landfall, and east/west can make a full circuit without entering another country.
